SoloSteady™
Income documentation for self-employed mortgage borrowers
The Problem
A bank statement mortgage is a home loan that looks at your bank deposits instead of your tax returns. It exists for self-employed people whose tax returns understate what they actually earn.
The catch is the paperwork. The borrower has to make sense of a year of deposits: which ones are income, what the monthly average is, and which months will draw questions. Most people do that by hand, from a stack of statements.
The Solution
SoloSteady connects to the borrower's bank through a read-only Plaid link, analyzes 12 consecutive months of real deposits, and documents their average monthly income with the math spelled out.
The borrower sees the analysis before paying, then downloads the package and submits it to their lender themselves. SoloSteady does not send it to anyone.
What the package includes
- An income summary, with the math behind the monthly average
- A deposit history listing every deposit counted
- An income and expense summary, deposits beside withdrawals
- A document checklist of what published lender guides ask borrowers to gather, each line credited to its source
How it handles data
- Read-only bank link through Plaid; the bank login never reaches SoloSteady
- Raw bank data is deleted within 24 hours
- No credit check
